MIDDLE EAST TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY (METU)
Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus (METU NCC) was established as a result of an invitation conveyed to METU in the year 2000 by the Governments of Republic of Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is a major higher education project financed by the Republic of Turkey and serves not only the Turkish students but also the international community. METU NCC enjoys full academic and administrative support of METU in Ankara.
With its excellent facilities, exceptionally qualified faculty, and highest international standards in teaching, research and community service, METU NCC offers internationally accepted degree programs in engineering and social sciences. The language of instruction on the Campus is English. From the very outset, METU NCC, following in the footsteps of its mother institution, the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, aims to become a select higher education institution with international character.
METU Northern Cyprus Campus admitted students to one undergraduate program in 2003-2004, and to six undergraduate programs in 2004-2005. These students spent their initial years on METU Ankara Campus and have moved to METU Northern Cyprus Campus at the beginning of 2005-2006 academic year. In 2015-2016 academic year, METU NCC is offering 15 undergraduate programs and 3 graduate programs to about 2650 students and aims at a student population of 3500 in graduate and undergraduate programs.
METU Northern Cyprus Campus is attached to the main campus in Ankara in all academic and administrative affairs. All degree programs of METU NCC are approved by the METU Senate, and provide the same quality standards of the main campus in Ankara. The METU NCC academic staff are recruited and promoted in accordance with the same criteria set forth by METU Senate and Administrative Board. The graduates of METU NCC are entitled to receive internationally recognized METU diploma.

FEES AND SCHOLARSHIPS
The annual tuition fee for all international students studying in Bachelor (undergraduate) programs in METU NCC is $ 7,500 per year. The tuition fee of the graduate programs (Masters) is $ 1,800 per semester, depending on the program of interest. The annual tuition fee for the undergraduate programs is to be paid in two equal installments prior to the registration of each semester.
TurkishRepublic of Northern Cyprus requires all international students to enroll in Health Insurance System which covers emergency treatment, clinical examination, as well as costs of hospitalization. The $110 annual fee for this compulsory health insurance is to be paid at the beginning of academic year. In addition to tuition and accommodation, students generally spend 400-450 US Dollars a month for living expenses such as food, transportation, stationary, books, etc.
METU NCC offers plenty of scholarships. Tuition waiver scholarships cover 25%, 50% and 100% of the tuition. You can apply for the tuition waiver scholarship by using the online application system. There are also some other scholarship supports provided during education as follows:
Academic success merit scholarship provides 450 to 650 TL/per month for the students with an extraordinary academic success. There are also scholarship opportunities offered to students in return for working in the library, laboratories, IT, sports complex, dormitories etc. within the name of student assistantship.
Finally, on the condition that they are successful in their studies, students in need of temporary financial support, may apply to support scholarship (with evidence of their situation) which provides them with books, necessities etc. This support is subject to a decision of the Scholarship and Support Fund of METU NCC.
ACCOMMODATION AND HOUSING
METU Northern Cyprus Campus dormitories are furnished with state of the art technology, offering students a safe, comfortable and well-cared environment. There are pathways for wheelchairs and Dormitory I is convenient for the accommodation of the physically disabled.
The campus provides various options for accommodation.
Dormitory I: Two or four students share a room, with a separate common study area and a bathroom. All rooms have AC and central heating, broadband internet connection, cable TV and internal telephones. In addition to a lobby, TV room, canteen, laundry and ironing room available for common usage, there are common kitchens and study rooms in the three blocks, one of which is for females.
Dormitory II: This building is designed to accommodate three students in a suite with individual bedrooms, a common study area, a kitchen and a bathroom. The building consists of two separate blocks, one for males, one for females. Other facilities and services are similar to Dormitory I.
Dormitory III: The rooms are designed to accommodate two or four students (2 double bedrooms). The WCs, bathrooms and kitchens are available for common usage (app. 26-32 persons). In addition, there are study rooms on each floor. Other facilities and services are similar to Dormitory I and II
Dormitory IV (METU Development Foundation Ebi Private Students Dormitory): Suite rooms for 4 people are arranged in rooms 2 + 2. Kitchen + Bath & WC+ study hall are available for every room.
Guaranteed Accommodation: Accommodation is guaranteed for the first two years on campus for international students.

- Medical report from an approved health center in TRNC, showing negative results of the PPD, HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C tests.

STUDENT LIFE
METU Northern Cyprus Campus is built on an area of 339 hectares (137 acres), approximately 50 km west of Lefkoşa (Nicosia – capital city of TRNC) and 6 km north of Güzelyurt (Morphou), a charming town with a population of 12,000.
METU Northern Cyprus Campus offers an exceptionally favorable student/instructor ratio of 12/1 and small classroom sizes (35 max.). The students form a close-knit community with the faculty members and administrators. Easy easy access to instructors promotes outside-the-class learning. In addition to its state-of-the-art education and lab facilities, METU Northern Cyprus Campus, as an e-University, offers all the amenities of high-tech information services, such as digital library, widespread access to computing, high-speed internet and cable TV.
METU NCC is an excellent campus with its high-tech infrastructure, very modern education buildings and laboratories, the Cultural and Convention Center, Administration – Library – IT Center Complex, Cafeteria, Shopping Center, Student Association Rooms, Dormitories, Staff Housing, Fitness-Wellness Club, Post Office, Book Store, Health & Counseling Center, Sports Complex, and an outdoor swimming pool. The Campus is designed with all the necessary provisions to accommodate physically handicapped students to achieve their full potential. The Student Associations and Student Activity Center, Campus shopping area, the Cultural and Convention Center, cafeteria and canteens provide a full line of social, cultural and sports facilities to the students and staff.
